We’re looking at the grid prep for the 1975 Republic Day Trophy at Kyalami. Right in the center, you’ve got Eddie Keizan sitting in the legendary Team Gunston Lotus 72 (#5), with Mike Domingo’s Brabham BT33 (#7) lined up just behind him. If you look over to the right side of the frame, you can even spot Solly Domingo keeping an eye on things.
The sheer atmosphere in this Ben van Rensburg shot is unreal, mechanics leaning over the wide tyres, open cockpits, and a packed pit lane in the winter sunshine. It perfectly captures an era when South African racing was truly world-class.
