Kyalami, 1970: A Golden Era.

There was something different about Piers Courage. He wasn’t just a "pay driver" from a wealthy background; he was a man of immense grit, talent, and charm who became the heart of Frank Williams’ early dreams in F1.
This shot from the 1970 South African Grand Prix at Kyalami captures Courage in the De Tomaso 505/38. It was a challenging season, but Piers’ spirit never wavered. Sadly, this would be his final season, but his legacy as one of the sport's true gentlemen remains etched in the asphalt.
